Nicole Kidman looked like Rapunzel at the Met Gala
Met Gala co-chair, Nicole Kidman, knows how to make an impact on the red carpet.
The seasoned Aussie actress wore a custom Chanel gown in an eye catching shade of red to capture the evening's 'Fashion As Art' theme: "Red is vitality. It’s love, it’s romance," she shared with the press.
But it wasn't just her dress that caught our attention — the 58 year old was glowing and her hip-grazing hair was the stuff of fairytales.
Celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman used warm, peachy bronze tones through the eyes from Cle De Peau's Eye Color Quad in 'Warm Ocean Sunset' ($85 from David Jones), and a little Perfect Lash Mascara in 'Black' ($70 from David Jones) on Kidman's bottom lashes.
Then she kept the lips nude and softly flushed using Cle De Peau's Lipstick Matte in 'Exuberan' and 'Pink Petunia' ($80 from David Jones), as well as Cream Rouge Shine in 'Calanthe Orchid' ($70 from David Jones).
“I love layering, mixing creams and powders, then pressing a bit of cream back on top to bring back that fresh radiance,” explained Westman via Cle De Peau.
As for Kidman's Rapunzel-inspired strands? Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel was responsible for the actress' red carpet look, and that of her daughter Sunday Rose...

“For Nicole and Sunday’s first Met Gala together, I wanted to create a meaningful connection for this special moment," Abergel explained via press release. "Hair became a subtle yet beautiful unifying thread, tying their looks together through a shared expression of modern elegance."
"The night before I like my clients to start with Virtue Recovery Shampoo ($50.40 from Adore Beauty) and Virtue Recovery Conditioner ($50.40 from Adore Beauty) to get hair shiny and healthy before a big moment," he continued. "The morning of the event on towel dried hair I used my favourite Denman D38 Detangling brush ($37.56 from Adore Beauty) to delicately brush out any knots."
Then prior to blowing the hair out, he applies Virtue Damage Reverse Serum ($71.20 from Adore Beauty) and a few pumps of Virtue Healing Oil ($52.80 from Adore Beauty) to help protect and reverse damage.
"I began by blowdrying with a Denman paddle ($37.56 from Adore Beauty) and Shark Beauty Flexstyle Air Styling & Drying System ($249.99 from Shark Beauty) to get the bangs to sweep perfectly and create just the right amount of shine and polish in the hair," he shared. "I then added 60cm extensions perfectly matching Nicole's colour and texture."
"To finish the look, I warmed a few drops of Virtue's Healing Oil ($52.80 from Adore Beauty) between my hands, gently tilted her head, and smoothed it through her long, golden locks for an added veil of luster and shine," he explained.
